Stop Hair Loss/Fall With These Natural Treatments


How can you stop hair loss/fall with natural treatments? Experiencing fall of hair strands every day is not at all alarming. How much hair loss is normal?  Losing up to 100 strands per day is a common event. Like when you comb, wash or even see hair on your pillow is very much normal. But when you see sudden and unusual shedding of hair for instance dropping hair everywhere you go, is much of a concern.

Common causes of hair loss/hair fall include genetics, stress, age, poor diet, combing damp hair, dandruff etc. But there are ways of treatment for your hair loss/hair fall by imbibing the given remedy into your hair care routine.


Take coconut oil and half the amount of lime juice. Mix the two well. Gently massage this oil in the roots of your hair using your fingertips. This will prevent breaking, damaging and falling of hair. Beside this, this will make your hair soft and dandruff free and also cure other hair related problems.


For the treatment of severe dandruff, mix coconut oil and lime juice and apply this oil into the roots of your hair in the night. In the morning, wash your hair with lukewarm water or with Reetha (Soapnut) water. Using this oil only for 2-3 times, treats dandruff and dryness in hair.

The method of preparing Reetha (Soapnut) water

Take reetha (Soapnut), tamp it into small pieces and soak it overnight in water( quantity one part of Reetha (soapnut) and 40 parts of water. In the morning, grind the same with your hands and then boil it. Let it cool and then wash your hair with the Reetha(Soapnut) water. First wash your hair with some lukewarm water and then apply half the quantity of the Reetha(Soapnut) water on the hair for 5 minutes and wash it off. Thereafter use the remaining half of the water the same way. And now finally wash your hair with plain water thoroughly to remove the Reetha(Soapnut) water from the hair.

Goodness of lemon

  • It is rich in Vitamin C that makes hair long and strong.
  • Lemon has anti-fungal properties that fight dandruff and fungal infections.
  • It strengthens roots of the hair and thereby prevents hair fall/hair loss.

Goodness of coconut oil

  • Coconut oil is anti-bacterial thereby prevents hair loss due to bacterial infection.
  • It prevents protein loss from the scalp.
  • It contains antioxidants that are healthy for our hair.
  • It keeps your hair hydrated and moisturized.


Other home remedies for hair fall/loss

1. Hot oil treatment

Massage your scalp with any lukewarm oil (coconut, olive, almond or sesame oil and etc.) that suits your hair every time before you wash your hair. It will improve the blood circulation in your scalp. Use your finger tips to massage your scalp and remember not to apply too much pressure ending up damaging your hair. Be gentle on your scalp.

2. Never comb your wet hair

Combing your hair just after coming out of the shower is not advisable if you are already going through hair fall. It even worsens the condition because the roots of your hair are the weakest when they are wet. So, first get away with the habit of combing your wet hair. Gently blow dry your hair and comb it using a wide toothed comb.

3. Eating healthy

Along with the teeny-tiny bits that you do to stop your hair fall, you shall begin to eat healthy food that help in strengthening your hair. Some of those foods include calcium rich food like milk, iron rich food such as green leafy vegetables, carrots etc., vitamin C rich foods and amla (Indian gooseberry) is the richest source of vitamin C, dairy products like milk, yoghurt, cottage cheese, etc., Vitamin E rich food like walnuts. If you include all such foods in your daily diet, you will be surprised by the results within couple of days itself.

4. Henna

Applying henna once in every 15 days treats all types of hair problems, be it hair fall, dandruff, greying of hair, dull, rough or damaged hair. Take as much henna required coating all your hair, depending upon the length and volume of your hair. Add 1-2 teaspoon of coffee, two eggs (only white portion) and half a lemon and water to form a thick paste to the henna. Mix all the ingredients well and let it sit for at least an hour. Apply this paste on your hair coating every strand of it using your hands with your gloves on. Cover your head with a shower cap once you are done to avoid dripping of henna. Wash your hair thoroughly with plain water to remove henna from the hair water after 2-3 hours. Do not shampoo immediately. Thereafter, oil your hair with your favourite oil once your hair is dry. Wash your hair the next day to remove the oil and left over henna.

5. Onion Juice

Onion juice works wonders in conditions of hair fall/loss or thinning of hair. It helps in blood circulation in the scalp resulting in regeneration of hair follicles. Onion is anti-bacterial hence, helps in killing bacteria, parasites and treats other common scalp infections responsible for hair fall and hair loss.

All you need to do is..

Extract the juice of one onion by grating it and then strain it. Apply the juice directly on your scalp. Leave it for at least 30 minutes. Thereafter, wash it off. Then you can shampoo your hair. Repeat this remedy at least twice a week in severe hair fall/hair loss.
